Exhibitor of the Year - Halter
For years the industry has been recognizing achievement of individual llamas within a breeding program, but
has neglected to recognize the entire program and the abilities of a particular exhibitor to accumulate a quality show string.
CLI is of the opinion that the positive consistency of a show string program is the most important aspect of llama breeding.
Sure, a program may produce a superstar once in a while, but the programs that consistently produce above average contenders
and winners in the show ring should be recognized for their positive achievements in enhancing the breed.
For that
reason CLI has established the Exhibitor of the Year award. Consistently winning in the show ring with multiple llamas establishes
an exhibitor as a knowledgeable breeder and/or purchaser of quality llamas. With the recognition of being recipient of the
Exhibitor of the Year presented by CLI, the entire national llama community will be aware that the exhibitor has earned and
deserves the recognition by consistently producing multiple llamas that finish at the top of CLI shows - not an easy feat.
Also, it is understood that this exhibitor's ranch is a good place to purchase possible show winners.
Points
that are received from different CLI shows within the year are accumulated, and at the end of the year, after the Murfreesboro
Classic in December, the exhibitor with the most points accumulated wins the Exhibitor of the Year Award.
Points
are accumulated for the Halter Division as follows:
5 points Champion
4 points Reserve Champion
3 points
1st Place (class winner)
2 points 2nd Place in class
1 point 3rd Place in class
The owner of the
llama at the time points are awarded receives the points.
