The Goal: “To enhance the long-term
viability and profitability of the llama industry.”
Exposing prospective owners to llamas through national advertising will
accomplish this. Forward-moving groups dedicated to preserving and creating both interest and value with llamas will
expose these diverse opportunities.
The llama industry includes many owners with diverse
goals and desires which complement their own lifestyles and offer involvement at various levels of activity and investment.
Diversity is desirable, because “one size does not fit everyone.” Different breeders
and owners prefer different styles of llamas such as Traditional, Classic, Miniature, Suri, etc. Diversity
allows for the creation of venues that meet the needs of everyone.
Other
industries such as horses, cattle, dogs, etc. understand the concept of diversity. Many different organizations
co-exist and cooperate within these industries. Various breed organizations help create awareness, generate
interest in ownership and increase the overall economic benefit of the entire industry. Planned diversification
is a logical step for the llama industry.
CLI supports diversification and sees a bright
future for an industry where diversification is not only supported, but also encouraged. Perhaps the best
way to give an overview of CLI is to share our Mission and Vision Statements, which drive the formulation and implementation
of the organization’s plan.
